A Chance

We were so close
Like a thorn and a rose
Every eventide we laid beside each other
Never contemplating the hereafter

But

Even after all of this
I never got A Chance to say
"I love you"
Can I ever find bliss?

When you never got A Chance to stay
So, in the murkiest of dreams I could follow you
And always depart with a midnight kiss
Before the reality of life would swallow you

On the red walls of my heart
Engraved in beautiful texture is your name
These bright crimson sparks
Signify that our feelings for each other will always remain the same

I don't wish to wait for you
For the remainder of my life
Because you were the ultimate realization
That made me feel alive...
